The nocking point marks on the string the exact point where the arrow nocks. Without that mark, the arrow sits at a different height on every shot and the grouping loses consistency.

This large version is intended for thicker strings, typically those of hunting bows, traditional/longbow bows and compound bows: Dacron strings with 16 or more strands and Fast Flight strings with 20 or more strands. On thinner strings it is better to use the smaller size, otherwise the piece will sit loose.

It is fitted with the proper pliers, closing the piece onto the string at the position measured with a bow square.
