The parabolic cut has a rounded, even back, without the step of the shield cut. At 4 inches it stabilises the arrow with less drag than a 5 inch feather, which is why it is a common size for short distances.
According to the product information, they are suited to traditional archery and to indoor tournaments. Because they are feathers of natural origin, they fold as they pass the riser or the arrow rest, which allows them to be used on traditional bows without a rest, where a plastic vane would strike.
As they are sold individually, count three per arrow, two hen feathers and one cock feather, plus a few spares, and make sure they all end up with the same orientation.
